"Pinky and Charlie"
"Pinky and Charlie," the (artist's) "my" parents, provided an amazing, safe, and loving home that I grew up in. When my mom passed after battling dementia for over 7 years, the devastation to my heart was heavy. Mom was ready to go home to my father, her suffering was over, there was peace ......... and after all those years it still caused immense pain for everyone who loved her. This painting is pink for my mother's wonderful nickname given by her father at birth, and green was my father's favorite color. She died on Good Friday, the start of Spring, and just before the amazing bursts of color emerge in our home state of CT. My feelings upon returning home to Hill Country, although in grief, were bursting with the color of my parents, soul mates, together forever and with love .......
