After my favorite aunt passed, I was outside in Hill Country talking to my cousin, her daughter, when a beautiful black and purple butterfly landed on my hand and just sat there. She did not move, and even as I walked around talking to my cousin, the butterfly stayed present. Then slowly, off into the sunny sky she flew and fluttered all around my house. My cousin Sandy was mesmerized. Sandy told me the story of how my aunt had a butterfly visit her often, just after her youngest daughter, Sandy's sister died. I told her to inquire with my Uncle Claire the colors of that butterfly. Much to our surprise she was black and purple! I had taken a picture of her and my Uncle agreed this was the butterfly. Upon further research she is a Texas butterfly. My Aunt Jackie lived in my home state of CT. when she met that little beauty. The world works in mysterious ways, nature is our friend, and as we embrace our world, simple works of magic happen.
